Home care is a service for those in need of medical treatment and/or assistance with the activities of daily living due to recovery after an acute illness, injury, disability, or exacerbation of a chronic illness. Generally, home care is appropriate when a person requires care that family and friends cannot easily or effectively provide on their own.
